Delano William Richardson Obituary, Death  – Seneca, SC – Delano William Richardson, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 14th, 2024, at Cottingham Hospice House. Born in Oconee County to Jasper N. Richardson and Lottie Patterson Richardson Black, Delano’s life was a tapestry of dedication and service.

Early Life and Career

Delano worked in the material section at Duke Power, contributing his skills and diligence to the community. His commitment extended beyond his professional life as he became a valued member of Seneca Lodge 185, leaving an indelible mark on the Masonic fraternity. His unwavering faith led him to Earles Grove Baptist Church, where he found solace and camaraderie. A funeral service to honor Delano’s life will take place at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 17th, 2024, at Earles Grove Baptist Church. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Oconee Memorial Park. Friends and well-wishers are invited to pay their respects on Friday, February 16th, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sandifer Funeral Home.

Family and Legacy

Delano is survived by his loving daughter, Delaine Rogers, and her husband Carl, of Seneca. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Kevin Eib, Kayla Rowland, Joshua Vickery, Laken Henry, and Aniston McKee, along with five cherished great-grandchildren. In addition to his late wife, Juanita Fricks Richardson, Delano was preceded in death by a daughter, Anita Elaine Richardson, and various family members, including sister Montez Lamb and step-siblings Lane Black, Forrest Black, Harry Black, Virginia Stone, Linda Black Mize, and Opal Black. An infant brother Richardson also preceded him in death.
